    BRP and the WoO

So Bubba Raceway Park decided to cancel the WoO show in exchange for a LOLMDS show.

I don't necessarily think it is a bad choice given the current landscape of the two National tours, but the execution could seemingly have been a bit more classy. Hopefully the WoO can find an alternate venue, and hopefully they can outdraw the LOLMDS and BRP for that race.

    Thanks,
    Jeff.

I don't think it's a big loss for the WoO, and I don't think it's a big gain for Lucas. It's a race and track that the drivers don't particularly care for much, anyways.

But, is fan count not more important? The track is more hammer down than some like. It is oddly shaped and difficult to adapt to. It can get rough as well.

Might be the all the reasons that most drivers don't care for.

BRP definitely doesn't drain well. If it gets alot of rain, it gets too rough. The track and racing is great, if it doesn't get too much rain. It gets slick from top to bottom when its right.

Brp has claimed that the limerock base, underneath the old asphalt, was not dug up and replaced. Also, Bubba had custom tarps made to cover the track, in case of too much rain.

I didn't even think they took up the pavement? The conversion happened pretty quick from what I remember.

Im pretty sure the asphalt was taken up, but who really knows? If you remember, the second year, Bubba decided to add more banking and of course it made it more hammerdown and less side by side racing. The first Powell Memorial was a great race, the track was slick from top to bottom.

Why Bubba changed it....who knows? He's done alot for dlm, but does some stupid things in a lot of peoples eyes.

Yeah, fan count is more important to Bubba. I can't blame him for doing the change. Thing is, I'm not so sure that a sanctioning change is going to move that needle though. Most fans and racers already have their Florida trips laid out, and have their money and hotel rooms earmarked for certain tracks on certain nights. I don't see any significant amount of people suddenly going to BRP because they made a last minute switch.

                  Where did you see this?

Its still listed on the WOO schedule and not on Lucas' schedule.

I thought it was interesting he said he would like to have 4-5 tracks in his stable.

I hope he does not want to do anything WRG related at any of them.

I'm guessing BRP must be very profitable??
