The better you are able to hook the cars up the more HP you can put to the ground ..... This is harder on motors and requires that people have the latest and greatest to stay up front .... The bigger problem no one is talking about in section A under suspension . Any new chassis design or components created to alter the suspension must be submitted to Lucas for approval before they will be allowed to use it in an event

Do people learn nothing from the Iroc series or what Nascar is doing now . They have essentially eliminated all forms of creativity .

I noticed that too carolinadirt, so will they sign a non disclosure or are they going to publish all new approved parts and drawings? One has to have their intellectual property rights or they should put all info in the public domain. It is not clear.

You don't get it. Bloomer had an expensive part. Rumley worked in the way new innovations have always come about in DLM. Simple parts used in a clever way.

You can't unlearn things. Rumley has now learned and will find another way. The rules will handicap those who were already behind.

We have already reached the test and test with data acquisition phase. The more the rules limit, the more optimizing what you have gains importance. The more that testing, that the average guy cannot do, becomes important. Rumley probably could have done something extremely expensive. He didn't. He did it what I would call the "right" way.

I really wonder, how many complainers on here, are the ones paying the bills or are they, keyboard racers. I would like to hear from some of them.

All we hear on here is, costs, costs, costs....but when a series makes some new rules to reign in "some" costs, they complain about that. New rules always hurt some more than others, but they will get on with their racing. I bet Rumley is still hard at work looking for the next best thing.

There's over 1 million combinations on setups. There's plenty to work on for average joe!

After reading and knowing what I know,with the aero, shocks, springs, and chassis components all we are doing is making the racing more like pavement racing everyday. i talked to one local car owner last night and he said that if you add weight to the car it would solve a lot of problems

I own a race car. It will be on the track this year. It has been deemed illegal because it has a device on it that has been used since the 80s and would make the car much easier for a hack like me to drive. I will not support Lucas in 2016. And likely not Florence Speedway once they inevitably are talked into adopting this rule book.

There rules won't save me a dime. But certainly make it boring for me.

Why is it so hard for people to differentiate between a "purchased" off the shelf $20,000 shock package and a $700 engineered lever package. If cost was the factor the cheaper device would not be banned. Look at this for what it is, a sanctioning body is trying to level the playing field to increase competition. Sound familiar? Does it work? The powers that be are once again bowing down or should I say "bowyering" down to a certain group.

As long as the new ideas are within the rules why the he!! should they have to ask for approval. People think that this is going to lower the cost but in fact it will just make the bigger teams spend more money on testing and engineers than ever before trying to get a leg up. yes, the pre-approval process is a bunch of crap.

If they were gonna go this far, they should of just banned bump stops. As well add a rule, Wide-bore engines add 25lbs infront of the engine plate.

Outside of that i think what they have done is going to save money.

Only thing i dont like is the shock must connect to the BC, i like running the dummy shock on a clamp bracket sometimes.
