This is real racing when you actually had to DRIVE the car.

Duane Dow, the announcer, was a weatherman in Milwaukee and Chicago for many years.

When we came down from Wisconsin to race at the Sante Fe specials we always had the feeling we would need security guards... a lot rougher crowd than us country bumpkins were used to!

Definitely a blast from the past! Tony jr picking up the heat win but apparently breaking in the feature. Tim Routson getting the "W"! He and his brother Red shared a shop with Gary Koehring in West Chicago. Red helped get me steered in the right direction when I put together a street stock on my own for the first time. A good group of guys. Seeing Jimmy Partipilo too! Unfortunately he's no longer with us. And was that Larry Jackson in the #51? I remember him running good back then.
