I'm not actually sure. I wanna say Rick Eshelman came up with it one night at Lernerville a number of years ago. He came up with a lot of drivers' nicknames.

Thats the truth. I hear so many of them that sound so unoriginal now. If your name starts with an R you're the Rocket so and so, every Freddy or Eddie is Fast Freddy/Eddie

Yep.....if I hear "Fast Freddy Carpenter", anymore during a telecast, I'm going to puke! No disrespect to him, but he AINT fast, at least down here he's not!
