    Save me a seat

I noticed they had the largest crowd ever at smoky mountain last nite I just don't understand why they don't build more stands last year I went to the Lucas oil race and barely found a seat I would have went last nite but I knew I wouldn't find a seat even if they just made tier parking bigger would help I live over 2 hours away so it is hard for me to get there early I like the racing program and the fans must too by the crowds you draw.

Not enough seats due to record crowds? What a great problem for any track to have!!! I would bet that every owner/promoter in the country would love to see fans fill a facility to the brim with more people wanting in. I know that the owners at Smoky Mountain have worked hard to improve the facilities over the past few years. Expanded pit area, new scoreboard last year, new scale house debuted last weekend - all possible because of successful shows such as the Lucas Oil race you mentioned. And due to past successes, they keep bringing bigger and bigger events to East Tennessee. Overwhelming response to races like this past weekend should enable more capital improvement projects in the future. I'm guessing they'll address the seating capacity next off-season. As for the ruts in the parking area, it's been that way as long as I can remember. They have filled some of the ruts with rocks to stop the ongoing erosion.

They're working on adding more seats at some point.
