    World of Outlaws Drivers List

According to a video that the WoO shared yesterday stating which drivers are still planning to run the full season it looks like their drivers list might be a lot more impressive than we though (3 of the top 5 drivers in the DoD power rankings are WoO drivers). Definitely not an All-Star list like the LOLMDS has but still an excellent list of top notch drivers in terms of the amount of talent assembled. LOLMDS has their 10-11 drivers which are all top calibur. But the WoO will be bringing 17 top quality cars out on tour. That is impressive, and if I were running a track that would be a huge selling point. You honestly don't need more than 7-8 local cars to show up for a full field and a GREAT race with a ton of talent. Even if they lose 3-4 cars over the course of the season they will still have a great field of drivers many of whom I'm very happy to see running a National Tour. Congratulations to the fans of DLM racing because the two series are both VERY healthy!

Here is the list according to the video:

    Paul Wilmoth Jr
    Jordan Yaggy
    Joey Coulter
    Billy Moyer Jr
    Eric Wells
    Chase Junghans
    Dennis Franklin
    Steve Casebolt
    Boom Briggs
    Frank Heckenast Jr
    Morgan Bagley
    Brandon Overton
    Chub Frank
    Shane Clanton
    Brian Shirley
    Rick Eckert
    Josh Richards

    Also of note:

Both Tyler Bruening and Tyler Erb have entered all 5 WoO events thus far, and both are planning to run at the Illini 100. Tyler Erb is especially surprising as this is significantly far from his home in Texas. Could be another driver considering a run based on his results over the next few races.

I've yet to hear anything from Chris Ferguson, Pancho Lawler, Jason Feger, Dillon Wood and others who had contemplated running the series at one point or another.

Seriously doubt all 17 can stay on tour for the entire season, but for all the naysayers putting a nail in the WoO after last season, I'd say that is an impressive start..... I will gladly pay money to see these 17 race this year.

Feger won't run. He's not a points racer, other than the SN.

That's my thinking too. Heck, I think 1-2 guys of the 17 will be MIA this weekend.

Every year guys that say they are gonna run a tour end up not being on the tour or drop off in May. No matter how big the suppose roster is in April.... It's always trimmed down to 10-12 by the end of the year. I honestly do hope some guys can stick it out through the summer.... I don't get many chances to see Rambo Franklin race.

It has been said on this site many times before, the two national tours can not support more than 10 to 12 drivers over an entire season. It is just not economically feasible........ but that is OK, many of us will get to see some drivers we never see race on a regular basis,at least until they drop off the tour.

What is the story with the WoO provisionals. Is it really unlimited? I know on the sprint car side, the platinum members get 4 a season, and I believe they are split between the first half of the season and the second. I know some people don't like them. I am OK with giving out a few to the loyal drivers because it is a long year and stuff happens, but UNLIMITED.......?

Most of those guys got what is called an emergency provisionals. Basically you are racing for points and nothing in the purse.

My understanding is that they aren't unlimited but not sure what the exact number is.

Farmer City was the first race using 2016 points. So that's why 8 were handed out on Saturday. All those guys had 100% attendance so they were eligible. Tyler Erb used his first 2016 provisional on Saturday. It was only the 2nd A main he made so far. Eventually those guys will get weeded out. This is probably the only race it'll happen at until Lernerville or Fairbury.

Speaking of the Sprints. I was listening to Winged Nation and they said WoO changed how your points/payout would be if you used a provisional(not emergency). I guess the changed resulted in Schatz putting it on the trailer instead of using a provisional. Interesting....

I thought you just gave up the starting money. That way the purse pay out stays the same.

Rambo backed out cuz of crewmember issues.
