If you don't want to pay $6 for a burger , eat before or I can't think of many dirt tracks that don't allow you to bring your own food & drinks, concessions are a covienance, they are open once per week not like a restaurant open all day every day. But in reality a burger & fries at the track around $10 I can't think of many fast food chains selling it for much less.

At Wheatland, you can get a hamburger or cheeseburger paired with a 20 ounce soda and a order of fries for $9. That is certainly reasonable. Also, their burgers are much better and larger than most any other tracks. They also have many more condiments (lettuce, onions, pickles, sliced tomatoes, mayo, barbeque sauce, etc.).

The Food at Lucas is actually pretty good. I don't mind the prices at all.

We race at Wheatland on a weekly basis. Hamburgers there are normally around $4. Not sure why they would be $6 unless they bumped it up for a special show. Food at Wheatland is far better than food at any other track I have been to. If you want to complain, try buying food at a WoO race!!! Ever been to Charlotte? Better bring a Benjamin if you want to eat there.

Last year was my first time to Charlotte and my Dad and I tried to be as thrifty as possible by eating before the races. There is a Papa John's right up the road from the track and we just picked up a pizza on the way to the track for $10-12 and ate that after we got parked. But still you figure that averages $6 per person.

Last year on Friday night at the WOO finals by about 1:30 in the morning we were starving and ready to eat again, went down and got two stone cold chicken finger baskets with fries and two cokes and I'd like to say it was $26. I think the chicken baskets were $9 each and the 20 oz cokes were $4 each. Yowzers. Just because they have the contract for the dirt track as the same as the drag strip and super speedway I reckon.

LunNutz. We stayed at Planet Hollywood. There were several convenient stores/liquor stores/drug stores along there selling canned beers cheap which you can walk up and down the street with. Or you can drink for free in the casino's if your losing your a** gambling

People get screwed every day somewhere on concession food prices because they know you will pay the big price, regardless of how much complaining you might do. You can do something about it by eating before you get there and by stuffing something in your pockets, beforehand, to get you through the event.
In theory, you should offer your patrons good food at reasonable prices as a "reward" for paying to attend your entertainment event; not trying to "strip their threads" by gouging.

I personally don't see this as a big deal. Go to a event, be it a concert, a sporting event, Movie, anything. Concessions are high period. No difference with WOO or Lucas. Some tracks are cheaper than others. Oh World finals are Dirt track are high. You are allowed to take food and even beer (Can) into track. Now I will say this, as World finals continue, I have noticed, Hotel prices around area have seemed to increase their prices. Which is ok, I just travel a little further up or down to find reasonable priced room.

I see Paul McCarthy tickets at Bush Stadium are as high as $2100.00 for front row and meet and greet. I didn't care for him in his heyday. So I won't be going

Went to the NHRA drags in Phoenix a few weeks back. Went because a friend from Peoria, IL was racing there in one of the sportsman classes. A Saturday (not Sunday finals) reserved seat was $50, parking (and not that close) was $20, a cheeseburger was $12, a water was $4. People lined up 10 deep to get food. Insane. Made me appreciate our midwest dirt tracks all the more.

The bottom line is, they can charge what ever they want. The quality and affordability reflects on the track. If the fan leaves with a bad taste in his mouth, he may not be back. When your selling a entertainment experience, one of those people you lose will be the one that puts you out of business. Everyone of them is of the same worth, if they don't return. You don't have to have bargain basement prices, but you need them to feel like they got their moneys worth.
