Drivers and fans: I woke up to fantastic news in today's paper! It seems Tom is really on our side here and has a plan to get things back in order for us after the overwhelming response from our racing community. Thank you all SO MUCH for caring about this place. I'm overwhelmed at the responses and sorry I can't get back to everyone especially Matt Mills and Mike Bechelli who absolutely refused to accept that we could be done.
The situation seemed impossible to me the other day, and I just wasn't sure how much I could or should say about some things. I promise to keep to keep you up to date when there is stuff you can help with. This community is strong and wonderful. --Renee

bigq11, that's good news. I wasn't talking about this track particularly because I know nothing about the track. I was just talking in general but, if the track needs to get some things fixed before they reopen I think everyone would applaud them in doing so. I think I light of what happened in the Charlie Floyd incident a lot tracks are looking at safety a little closer. Again like I said I'm not saying that's the case here and is the reason for them temporarily closing its doors. Others can speak to that not Me.

That was 2004. He was above the fence hanging from the arm of a light pole. I have pics, but don't know how to post them here.[/QUOTE]

Big Tom, I would like to help you post them on here. Do you have the pictures stored in "MY PICTURES" on your puter?

BTW have you looked at the race results Brownstown on their site? Old results from 1969 to 1975. I saw where Cecil Beavers won 2 or 3 late model races there and Gaines finished 3rd once. I had no idea.

I have been to Twin Cities a couple of times, yes the facilities definitely need some work, yes the track wasn't in great shape, however, the couple of times I have been I witnessed some very good racing. But you haven't been hit on the head by one of those rocks have you? Well when you see it going on so often it's MAKES you worry about your safety and others all night.

Everyone has a right to their own opinion but i have to disagree with part of your statement. If track owners/promoters refuse to put anything into a track to at least make it so you dont fall thru the stands or get pelted with rocks everytime your there then yes it does need shut down until fixed. If that many rocks are hittng fans how many drivers you think are getting hit. Sucks to see tracks shutting down but sad to say some need it and this is one.

They also really need to stop pumping water off sandbar in creek. Move pumps back 50 yards or wherever there is a creekrock base. That is one reason it is do dusty, and dirt won't hold together.
I think there should be lifeguards in the genepool.

That would be a great improvement for sure.
