This is something on my mind and maybe i'm foolish for asking because its probably an answer that everyone already knows. Why does Eldora not have a WoO or Lucas Oil series sanctioned race throughout the year? I know they have the Dream and World 100, but i'm pretty sure that isn't a sanctioned race is it? I just don't understand how either series does not use up other weekends at Eldora.
Eldora Question????

I believe that UMP sanctions both of those events. I don't think WOO or Lucas would have a ton of draw for a sanctioned race there considered everybody already comes in twice a year for the big ones, but maybe I'm wrong. It just seems that additional WOO or Lucas races aside from the Dream and the World would dilute the market a bit.

They had a WoO race there back in 07, had right around 50 cars. I remember Stewart being there and setting fast time. Oddly enough I remember that EPJ won that night, and wasn't a WoO regular. It was kind of tune up to the world. It was held just a few weeks before.
Not sure why they haven't done it again honestly.

Yes. They have been UMP for a very long time. I'm not 100%, but I think Bob Memmer an Earl had a pretty good relationship. It's the set of rules they follow and points they run under. But no, Eldora could do it solo, they just have had the relationship with UMP for a long time.Originally posted by MI Dirt Fan View PostIsn't UMP a sanctioning body?Up in the air who my next “favorite†driver is. Believe they had two WoO races, one of which included Tony's ill-advised slide job on race leader Chub Frank. Subway was the sponsor.Originally posted by zyoung25 View PostThey had a WoO race there back in 07, had right around 50 cars. I remember Stewart being there and setting fast time. You're right. That one was recorded, and later televised on speed. I remember Chub was not happy at all over that deal. Correct me if I'm wrong, wasn't it back to back nights?Originally posted by Mams View PostBelieve they had two WoO races, one of which included Tony's ill-advised slide job on race leader Chub Frank.
