I know a place that could hammer the magic even out of that dirt, with their almighty sheepsfoot.

Theres ol' Terry Earl making cracks online again instead of calling the promoter himself. Keep being you Mr Wetter.

When I heard all this Fairbury hype about 6 years ago, I thought it was just home town hype. I thought they just never seen a good race and it was bragging. I went and have gone to every big race I could since, even though it is a bit of a drive. As far as I'm concerned, This track rates number 1 and only a couple come close. I keep waiting for the bummer race, but it never comes. Some tracks have a good race, now and then, but not every race. A poor race here is rated fantastic any where else. Be a skeptic if you want but do yourself a favor and try it once. The darn place will make you a believer. Fast cars with good drivers can go to the front. What more can you ask.

We started out as a young child spectator in the mid 1960's and later was a minor crew member of a multi-time championship winning dirt late model team at Fairbury. We remember well, even though we were very young, when they used to race the rail cars (sprint cars). Obviously, we attended races at FALS before and after they reconfigured the racetrack. Reconfiguration of the racetrack was the single most significant factor contributing to the great racing we've seen at Fairbury.

Over the years and through literally dozens of nights of racing we've witnessed at FALS they've had their share of choo-choo train snoozers. But in the last 7 to 8 seasons or so FALS has consistently hosted some of the best dirt late model racing to be found anywhere. Period.

Their record for great racing is a tough act to follow season after season but hopefully they'll keep the string of great racing going for many years to come.

Cirf. What did they change when they reconfigured the track?
