Dam i dont know whats up with the street stocks the last few years. Use to have to run consis just about every week years ago. Even the big race at the end of the year doesnt seem to draw many anymore. Think last year barely had a full field with no bmains. Use to have Dmains for that show every year. I cant remember the exact or even close # but i wanna say it was between 60-80 street stocks for that 1st show. I know it was alot bc my uncle and I parked his truck halfway down the main road to the pits having drivers draw #s for the truck load of door prizes we had for this insanely long line of SS coming in

street stocks 4 cyl etc are down most every where

Yeah even Carolina a few weeks ago and Cherokee and Lancaster had low counts for streets. But I go to Hesston last weekend and they have almost 20 for a regular show. Its a shame, streets have always been 1 of my favorite classes to watch

Always have been one of my favorites too...probably costs as much as a steel block LM to run...crates seem to be the class is choice now..... for instance, the top 2 in the crate feature tonight were former SS track champions( 30 Alvey and 00 Franklin)

Yeah crates seem to be picking up. Street stocks and even some of the hobby stocks look like the old semi lates from years ago

Been running SS since 07, not sure where your getting info/numbers from... But 60-80 cars is a far cry from anything we've had since I've been a part of Potomac...

I think it's a Matter of time in some areas the street stocks will be a thing of the past.

Last week at Sharon Speedway they had 45 stocks show up for $1000 to win and next weekend they are paying $2500 to win at Thunder Mountain Speedway near Brookville, Pa.

Should we be concerned about SLM car counts in the Mid-Atlantic region? Potomac, Delaware International, Winchester, and Hagerstown are struggling to get full fields on a weekly basis. Both Port Royal and Selinsgrove seem to be healthy for now for regular shows. If these low car counts keep up I could see the day that the crate late models become the stable for these tracks as the head line division and the SLM only run a handful of special shows throughout the year. I hope I am wrong? The Rush CLM seem to be very healthy in western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio.

Was going to mention this too. Yeah, they are a far cry from "stocks" though. I remember Rich Prosser and Alan Dillenger back in the day really racing each other hard. Neither was close to legal. Prosser had the same Nova for a long time. Now everything is pretty much a chassis. Sharon has some real good stocks. As does Lernerville.

Crates & economy modifieds get the biggest car counts in the Ohio valley/wv area & have been the past couple years.

Was well before 07. And like i said im not sure of the exact # but this was in the early 90s for the very 1st small car nationals. Both the lower pits and infield were packed mostly with street stocks
