Well looks like the Ind 500 has there $hit back in one sock.. Place packed and Place sold out.. When Ind does good seams like Dirt Racing does good .. Lets hope for a Great race and a Good Veterans Day... God Bless USA.......

I've been to more racetracks than I care to count. Indianapolis is easily the worst. I wouldn't go back if I lived next door and got a free ticket.

I was there for practice years ago sitting at the very top and couldn't see much of the track at I really don't see the attraction

Happy to see a local boy, Alexander Rossi, from our twin cities of Grass Valley and Nevada City, CA win it, even in a fuel mileage situation, in his rookie start at Indy. He struggled in Formula 2 and 1 for several years with low buck teams and lost his ride a few months ago. It isn't F1 but winning the Indy 500 isn't too shabby either. Our little towns with a combined population of only about 14,000 also claim Brad Sweet, current WOO Sprint points leader, sort-of brother in law Kyle Larson and Matt Dibenedetto, both of whom are at Charlotte today in the Cup cars. Must be our mountain air...just wish some of it would rub off on my son and I.

That's BS and I can prove it. We have pictures from every year since back in the 1980's and NEVER has IMS been only 1/2 filled for the Indy 500 and the pictures we have bear that out. It's never been less than around 80-85% (220,000 not counting the infield) full since we've been attending the race and that's over 30 years.

The crowd Sunday is the largest crowd in the 105 year history if IMS. According to local Indianapolis news it was in excess of 350,000 which would make the crowd in the grandstands and the infield equivalent to the 57th largest city in the United States. 1 out of every 1000 people in the entire United States was at the 2016 Indy 500. Pretty impressive crowd whether it's the 100th running or not.

The NASCAR race at Indy doesn't even come close to half filling the place so referring to the Brickyard you'd be correct and then some, but not the 500 by a long shot.

In addition, it was NOT a follow the leader race. Only a fool would make such a statement. I would conservatively guess there were 30 to 35 lead changes among around a dozen cars with probably a half dozen lead changes in the final 20 laps. That ain't no follow the leader race by anyone's standards.

And aside from all that, a red blooded American driver who is very humble and well mannered was the winner.
