No doubt, unfortunately, Eldora is a dust bowl

The track was just starting to come in after the 2 last dash races. Had mutiple grooves n what do the do. Water the f n track. Evidently whoever does track prep didn't c the same thing the fans saw. Everyone around us are like wtf are they doin. Ya it was dustier, this year than in previous years. Look at last year's kings royal even after a 3hr rain delay, by the end of first heat you couldn't see any of the track, so water ain't the issue,

I would expect a track that was prepared more than four inches deep and sheepfooted into rock! That's what I would expect.Originally posted by HoosierDirtFan View PostAs hot as it was yesterday at the track (easy mid 90's+) and the amount of laps they put on the track what did you expect. And the even re-worked the track before hot laps & b-mains.
The dust flies way before hot laps are even over.

Since they've been messing with banking and resurfaced the track, the dust has gotten worse. I can't remember what year it was they done it, believe it was around '12 or '13. The racing has gotten better every year since that resurface though.

They have the these big events and they make a killing. They see they they don't have to go the extra mile. Just sprinkle their sheepfooted to death tracks and roll in the cash. And since the high dollar pros have the tools and know how to gain their little edge, the winner will always come to the podium and praise the track on how great it was, while the lemming black sambos leave the track smiling and looking like they just fell down a coal shaft scurry off to their brown vehicle, some too drunk to even know what happened anyway, and head home to take a shower and rinse a head full of dirt out before going to bed.Originally posted by Dirt Draggin View PostDo you really think those Prima Donna's that sit in the"Tower of Power"give a god dam(n) about the fans? Those of us that have to go straight home with filthy clothes, blow dirt out our noses for hours, will try to improve that if we keep going? I'm fairly sure the crowd was down some-I know the car count was,and the fans are pretty loyal to their drivers.Tony should be aware of this by now. He's done a great job upgrading/improving certain areas but it's time to walk around and look at the situation a little closer.Maybe I'm just getting too old to enjoy it anymore,it's just my opinion,of course. If you like that type condition, that's fine! Just don't send me your bill to treat your sinus infection-that would be on Tony's tab.LOL
Then it's pack the coolers and dust off the tailgates and do it all over again the next time.
It is getting worse, and I do remember when they ran at day time.

13 is bout right. Racing has improved greatly since say 10 and 11. The problem now is you can't hardly see it. ...like I said in the beginning, I'm no prep expert, but somethings a foul big time. I'm hoping the World will be like the Truck race. Black all over.Originally posted by zyoung25 View PostSince they've been messing with banking and resurfaced the track, the dust has gotten worse. I THINK they resurfaced the track in the summer of 13. I don't really know what the anwser is either, but it seemed like after the track cleaned up the other night, the dust wasn't as bad. I spent most of my night in the infield, watched the feature from turn 3. Right around halfway, the dust died down from my seat.Originally posted by dirt crow View Post13 is bout right. Litey your missing the whole point. We all know it gets dusty, but their must be something or figure out away to control the dust somehow a little bit.

Exactly!,plunks7 and old fan they have done it with no hot laps and started later-how about a 2 1/2 hour rain delay that dumped 1-2 inches of rain. When they started again by the 2nd or 3rd heat it was right back to dusty again.PS-please stop referring us to go to other tracks- The topic is ELDORA DUSTY

Saturday nights feature was very dusty. Racing was good except Saturdays heats. Most 100 lappers start a little dusty then the track cleans off 20 or so laps in. 60 laps in before we could see cars in turns three and four.

Knoxville doesn't to have this problem. Tri State Speedway doesn't have this problem. Hopefully it can be fixed. I don't have a problem with dirt flying; however, I do have a problem with spending my money to enjoy the biggest dirt late model races of the season and I cannot even see the cars. Hopefully the World 100 will be better. I do enjoy visiting Eldora. Just frustrating as a fan.
