Thinking about going to this race, what's the track like?

No,it's got substantial banking(IMO) but to me it doesn't race that well......great seating!

Been long time since there but racing was good. Turns banked maybe 15 degrees. Definetly oval shaped and only front stretch wall

Track is in a great location. Easy to find. Great parking, lots of camping parking. Great seating all the way down the frontstretch. Probably get about 35-40 Late Models. But you won't see great racing. Track is moderately banked. Track is usually one groove around the top, as the bottom is so choppy and rough. But I'll be there seeing it's only half an hour from my home. Great firework show too!

I've been there twice and the racing was outstanding both times. The last time I was there Tyler Carpenter got sent to the tail for rough driving and came back through the field and won, so I haven't witnessed the non passing track some talk about. Track has decent banking and there is not a bad seat in the place although the best seat is in the pit stands in turn 1.

Nice track but the racing isn't that good unless it rains a ton before the race. For some reason the track is never prepped right.

Donnie Moran is promoting the track this year, his Dad owns it. Maybe prep will be different. Maybe Devin can get his second Lucas win.
It has only raced once this year and Devin Moran won by a straightaway. The best race Ive ever saw there was last year when Tyler Carpenter came from the tail to win. Racing is not usually that good. I hate the cars running off the track and coming back on, no guardrails, only front stretch wall.
There was a picture on their facebook before last race and you could see lots of rocks on the surface.
Also, Donnie has never raced since a few years ago when he rolled his car there on the last lap. Devin got his first Lucas win that same night.

By all means, if you can go, do it. I'd put Muskingum up against any other Ohio track for its raciness - maybe Attica beats Musky in that department but not worth arguing over (I've never been to Oakshade).

Get there early and buy a seat high up as possible and try to stay in the center of the track (helps cut down dust blast rolling off the corners). Even though the track doesn't look as banked as it appears, if you get stuck with the down-low late seats, you can barely see the roof tops in turn 4 if they go low but the high line is the preferred line. Don't forget your dust glasses. The last two races I saw were won from 18th or deeper. That doesn't happen very often in the big series. It's totally a haulin' A speedway.
