Saw this on Facebook and though I wasn't surprised I am a bit sad. He is one of the great midwest regional guys that made the Busch Allstar Tour fun to watch with the Kosiski's and Webb. He has lost a some speed the last year or two, but was still fun to watch.

Although I don't get to see Ray race much anymore except for specials he showed up at, I have a lot of memories of him and his Dad racing around central Il. Those 2 sure won a ton of races back in the day.

They were both top of the game in the midwest at one point or another. Ray has been close to making Knoxville a few times the last couple years, but he just doesn't have the speed he once did even in top notch equipment. I don't think he's dried up at all, just doesn't want to put the time into any longer. If he wanted to really go after it I think he would be competitive, he just doesn't have it any more.
