HELP!!! 2.3 ford 135 tooth flywheel and stock starter problem. GRINDING

i have a 135 tooth clutchnet aluminum flywheel and clutch assembly. i also have a stock 9 tooth starter and when i went to start after my new 135 tooth flywheel install it grinded like hell. I need to know what starter i need for this set up. do i need a 10 tooth starter? also i have seen where a 1974 mustand II starter will work. Any help is very appreciated!
