Maybe because the guy who won this year won the championship the two years before gilpin and also tied jimmy owens at 4 for all time championshipsComment

no they raced very little head to head from results i have seen . In the events they raced head to head mike out ran him on many occasions . Gilpin is tough to beat but if i had to choose whom I'd see win it would be Mike hands down . I havent really ever seen Mike tear others cars up a bunch where as Gilpin I have . Both are great competitors and racers but Mike is just one notch above in my book .Comment
