It's going to be a POWRi National Midget/WAR wingless sprint car show similar to the event scheduled for June 1st at Fairbury. Lookin' forward to spectating at the Route 66 dirt track again after all these years.

Last race we watched at Route 66 was a combination USAC National Midgets/USAC National Sprint Car event that was run in conjunction with the Indy Car race at the big race track across the street. That was a loooooooooong time ago.

Hope this deal works out well. 2 POWRi/ WAR sprint car events within an hour of the house (Joliet & Fairbury) this year is more midget and wingless sprint car racing we've seen this close to home for a very long time!!

I would only question why they would run an event such as this on a Thursday evening. Both racers and spectators alike will be hampered by that fact that most of them, including myself, will have to work on Friday.
