I wonder if the Ford engines will be available to the USAC Sprint Car guys? I hope so. This isn't the first time Ford had ventured into the winged 410 sprint car world. Bobby Davis Jr. won the WoO Sprint car title for Casey Luna running a Ford engine back in 1989.

I get the impression that Tony Stewart may win a sprint car race with the Ford sprint car engine before Schatz wins with one. I am thinking Schatz will what more testing done before he agrees to race the Ford.

From what I've read and listened to via podcast, ect., is that the horsepower and torque curves are more important regarding winged sprint cars than some other car classes due, obviously, to the way the wing cars are pinned to the track. It's long been a proven fact that the torque and horsepower curves are very distinguishable between the tried and true SB Chevy's and the Ford engines of the past. I doubt that will be significantly different these days. I'm sure those power curve distinctions would be preferable to differing driver styles and preference.

If Schatz takes a liking to the Ford it's a cinch that a significant market share will be opening up. It is kinda' cool that Ford is placing emphasis on making inroads into the short track genre'. The Chevy style small block has had the deal locked down for decades.

He will race what he's given. He's working for arguably the best sprint car operation in racing...

That may be true to a certain degree, but Tony has to keep Donny happy and comfortable to win races. If Donny is not yet comfortable with the Ford , he may not push it to the limit. For a racer who has raced Chevy powered sprint cars his whole career, racing a Ford is a big move.

Mod, I'm working from memory here, so take it for what it's worth, but I thought I read somewhere that Donny and the team was doing some testing with the Ford engine somewhere.

Any updates on how testing is going with the TSR Ford engine ? Does anyone have a picture of the engine ? IF so , please share the picture.

We are almost into the month of May and I have yet to see pictures of the TSR Ford sprint car engine. Has TSR shelved the engine ?

It was just at Shaver on the dyno again before going back to Andy Durham.

I've not seen much of anything about this deal. It's either been kept pretty quiet or there isn't much going on.
