    RIP Kevin Olson

Sad news. Kevin Olson succumbed to injuries sustained in an auto accident Feb. 11th.

KO was 1982 and 1987 USAC National Midget Champion. KO won the Hut Hundred back when it was a true crown jewell.

I just spoke with Kevin at the Chili Bowl and he was as much fun as ever.

Kevin wrote a monthly column in Sprint Car & Midget Magazine and he was a pit reporter for XM radio broadcasts.

    RIP KO.

Bummed out to hear of KO's death. He was definitely an original and then the mold was broken.

Terrific racer, primarily in the midgets, and one of the funniest guys ever with everything from his rebuilt light bulb "business" to his cone head getup in victory circle and endless other gags.

Had the great pleasure of spending a couple of hours with him and Stan Fox many years ago at a midget show and it was one of the more memorable and, for sure, fun times I ever had at a track. Now, sadly, both are gone and the world is a little dimmer place.

Deepest condolences to his family and several zillion friends.

Here's an article on a Wisconsin radio station website about Kevin. Nice piece.
