engine setback

Ok, so i blew up my IMCA spec engine and am going to put a 604 in its place....by the rules I am allowed 8" setback. Right now the engine is only back 6 1/2 inches. My question is what changes should I make besides moving engine back?

It has been a very long time since I have had anything to do with chassis set-up but I do listen to what my customers are saying and some things are still relevant----
think about leaving the engine in the current location---

I am assuming you are putting in less power with the 604 than what you have been running----this may call for less rear percentage
and even when we are in search of traction--rear percentage is not always the answer----if the nose is too light the steer tires will not react

its quite a bit of work to move the engine back
shorter driveshaft
shorter throttle and transmission linkages
motor mounts---radiator/hoses
etc etc
maybe give it a try the way it is

Thanks, thats what ive been hearing. I just thought moving engine back would help "centralize"
the weight....that and Im able to take weight off the car, so I was going to remove the lead I
have at the rear and try to keep percentages the same.
