    604 Valve springs

    How often should a 604 valve springs being changed and does anyone know the GM part number

    I change mine every 10 races or 300 laps.

    GM part # is 12495494 - set of 16

        300 laps give or take.
        You should also just go ahead and change the caps and keys while you are in there.
        GM part number 19171528 for a set of the caps and GM part number 12495503 for a set of the keys. About $30 gets them both and it's worth it just to have them on hand in case you find a problem while you are changing springs.

          I was told by a good source that this years springs are crap. I dont want to change mine now.

            The springs have always been crap. That's why a lot of people buy about 50 of them and pick the best ones out and scrap the rest just to make sure they have a reasonable set of springs.

                You used to be able to but the cost of 3 or 4 was more than a complete set with retainers and keepers.
