    one thing that i dont understand is how to much fluid can cause excess heat? can someone explain this to me?

      It's my understanding that if the oil level gets to high the oil will get aerated. Aerated oil is full on tiny air bubbles. The tiny air bubbles displace the oil between the gear surfaces and allow metal to metal contact (lack of lubrication). The metal to metal contact generates more heat.
