    do they make one or does everyone just use the plugs in the oil pan

      We have always used the plug in the pan.

          In the past we have considered it a breather system upgrade and did not allow it.

          as an engine builder ---I would much rather you use the factory provided inspection plug ---it is more accurate than a dipstick and way more cleaner for the engine.

          proper oil level is one of the first questions we address on our website under " FAQ"
