We have the standard Brinn, not the PRO series and I called Brinn direct, and got the info directly from the manufacturer. They said 20/50 engine oil, NON synthetic...Takes right at a quart, just a tad under...We just buy Napa 20/50 or whatever. Ran the same clutch pack for going on 4 years and oil still comes out clean and no clutch slippage...

I run the Castrol or Valvoline Type F; use 3 qts. I believe. (I'm on the original/standard Brinn)

You are running WAY to much fluid, there is not a Brinn made that takes 3 qts.Originally posted by latemodel86 View PostI run the Castrol or Valvoline Type F; use 3 qts. I believe. (I'm on the original/standard Brinn)
Brinn is 20/50 non snthetic oil.
Bert is Type F trans fluid.
Both are just under a qt of fluid.

I thought the guy I bought the brinn from said he used type f. Would it be ok if I kept using type f if thats allready in it? When I drain it there will be a little left in it and then I would be mixing type f and 20-50.

I would NOT mix them, I would run what was in it. If and when you rebuild it, clean it completley and then use the recommended oil.Originally posted by ncracer1st View PostI thought the guy I bought the brinn from said he used type f. My friend has a bert and told us to run type f, maybe that's why. I'll check into it some more. Thank you for saying something!Originally posted by Egoracing View PostYou are running WAY to much fluid, there is not a Brinn made that takes 3 qts.

Directly from Brinns website under FAQ.
Q: What fluid is recommended for use in the Brinn Original transmission?
A: Dexron III ATF or equivalent, Racing ATF, or a 20W-50 non-synthetic engine oil are all approved fluids.
Q: How much fluid do I put in the Original Brinn transmission?
A: 1.0 quarts of fluid.
I have always ran 20W50 regular oil with no problems.

Yup. Just running regular old Dexron III, it takes just under 1 quart. I wouldn't flip flop though. If you run Dexron, don't put 20w-50 in it because you happen to have one laying on the shelf. Pick and oil and stick with it.Crew Chief "Tip of the day":
Most handling problems can be solved by adjusting the screw-ball. It can be difficult to fine tune at times. Explaining yourself loudly and striking it on top of the helmet with a dead blow hammer usually works well.
