Here is my chance to vent
It aggravates the heck out of me when we spend endless hours matching components---changing collector length and size ---adjusting fuel curve--etc. etc.
doing our best to give the customer the best product we can and then when the engine is installed in the car the guy throws the header gaskets in the back of his tool box and puts a bead of high temp silicone on the headers.
When asked why----everytime he will say-- "it always worked on my super engine"
so if you have 8 to 10 HP or even more to spare go ahead and goo them up ---but please let us know so we don't bust our a$$ so hard on getting everything else right.

I have been looking for a copper gasket that actually fits after crush-----if you have a good number for that please let me know------the closest copper that we found still hangs in the port by about .060" after it crushes and that was actually worse than silicone at .100" because the silicone was round and the copper was a flat obstruction-----you can trim the copper but it would be much more convient to buy a drop in gasket
we use schoenfeld gasket # 01560 on all headers on all 604's-----
