crate 602 questions...

I am building a Limited Sportmen to run at East Alabama. I have read many post about about the 602 is not worth running even with the weigh break, because you cant get your percents right. But I see most weights are around 2000lbs. At EAMS you have to weight 2450 w/602 and 2650 w/604. With that said would it be worth it?

Also what ignition system works well with the 602?

602 might work for you, most folks run 604 because of the HP and it is lighter. With 200# you might be a little closer.

Isn't EAMS pretty big? Maybe I am thinking GVS...

602 uses an HEI distributor, it works OK but in most cases an MSD Dizzy and box is 10-12HP better on a 602. Hei module is very voltage sensitive so you have to keep the battery up for sure. Back in the pavement sportsman days an alternator was worth about 25Hp at the end of a 50 lap race.
