remote starter solenoid

I have ran the remote ford solenoid on a mod in the past. I am rewiring a latemodel that doesn't have a solenoid on it. I know they are used because of heat issues but is it necessary on a latemodel where the headers aren't by the starter. This is with the starter on the block.

Not needed I haven't used one for the last 15 years or so the solenoid on the starter is just fine.
