    Motor Oil

    This question might have been on hear before but. What engine oil are people using in there 602 and 604 crates and whats the best oil filter.

    we use brad penn with wix filters

      Yeah Wix racing filter for sure. Part # 51060R, you can get it Napa and O'reilly's. I don't have a crate engine and I wanted to use Brad Penn 20W-50, but I had way too much oil pressure with it. So I had to drop down to 10W-30, I went with Valvoline VR-1. And I use an oil additive to bring the zinc and phos levels up to safely run it with a solid cam. If you are in south GA I would gladly sell you 6 quarts of the Brad Penn cheap haha. I will never use it.
      Crew Chief "Tip of the day":
      Most handling problems can be solved by adjusting the screw-ball. It can be difficult to fine tune at times. Explaining yourself loudly and striking it on top of the helmet with a dead blow hammer usually works well.

        crate engine with brad penn oil pressure is in the mid 40's
