Have a friend who is running rich with a 750 holley carb on his 604 on pump gas. Curious where most people jetting their carbs running pump gas?

make sure it has power valves front and rear
jetting is hugely affected by other orifice sizes within the carb----IF this is a "box stock" holley with front and REAR power valves then I will agree with the above poster

Thank you both. This is a racing holley carb with power valves. He is jetted a lot higher than that right now. I will jet it down. Are most running a 6.5 power valve?Comment

all Stealth carbs come to us with 4.5's
the number (rate) of the powervalve is where it releases in relationship to vacuum
manifold vacuum holds the valve closed----keeping the mixture lean and clean at low rpm
4.5 valve will open at 4.5 inches ov vacuum----a 6.5 would open earlier as the vacuum would only need to drop to 6.5 inches before it would open
the lower numbers will keep you clean a tick longer----not a huge deal---dont stay home because you think your powervalve rate is wrong
staying with "High Flow" valves and greasing the gasket on installation is important though

I use cherry chapstick on the gaskets so they dont stick to the metering block and the bowl . Grease will do the same thing so in the heat of the moment you dont have to scrape the stuck gasket off and reuse the gaskets .Comment
