I'm trying to figure out just how small of a fuel cell I can use in the crate class. I've got a 32 gallon ATL, but im looking to downsize. I've never ran crates before so I'm not exactly sure how much fuel it takes to run a complete feature. Mostly run on 1/4 and large 3/8 tracks. Feature laps anywhere from 30-100.

For a 1/4 mile we figure about 6 laps per gallon. That's 93 octane pump gas.

Thanks Matt, Im seriously considering a new 20 or 22 gallon wedge cell from RCI. Just wanted to make sure that I could get away with something that small. I've noticed that Trak-star is starting to use those exact fuel cells in the cars they build. I will be on 93 octane as well.

If you mount it all the way to the left, it would make a good chassis adjustment. Especially if your car gets too loose during the feature.

we use a 17 gallon Fuel Safe wedge cell - same as the 28 gallon version but only the bottom half. very nice piece. we burn 5-7 gallons per night VP113/VP Crate.

Thanks for the replies everyone, very informative. I didn't realize Fuel Safe made a wedge cell that small. Defiantly gonna check into that.

I have a 15 gallon on my older rocket, I set the car up where 15 gallons is what it takes every time we go out. Never had any issues.
