I’m changing plugs on my distributor. Distributor plug has a orange and a purple striped wire the plug on my boxes have a purple and a green wire can someone tell me what colors go together?Thanks!

Distributor orange to box purple. Distributor purple to box green.

Yeah, what he said. This has been a problem for 40 years. People think the purples go together, and the thing will run fine at low RPM, but, if I recall, will retarded at high rpm. Never understood why they didn't change the wire colors to match up.
