Thinking about making a spring change on the right rear of car. Springs and shocks were smashed by shock guy and the spring change im looking to make is on the right rear. When car is on jack stands, there is separation between shock and spring so how much will changing spring change set up? Should I measure eye to eye, change spring and put shock measurement back to same measurement? I realize they stroke the shock and spring package and get load rates at different heights. Should I send shock back out to be smashed after the spring change?

Quick run down without knowing if you have just a simple single spring with no bump.
1. Record how far your adjuster nut is down from the top of the shock or bulb (say like 2.25" from bottom of bulb to top of nut. This is so you can go back to what you had if you choose too.
2. With the car sitting on the ground (preferably a place that is marked so if you need to you can go back to the same place exactly since floors aren't level usually) and measure the pin to pin of the RR for reference. It may not be sitting at the say 20" pin to pin it was smashed at. Lets say this is 20.375"
3. Change the spring
4. Set car back down and measure pin to pin now after spring change. If you stiffened the number will likely be higher and vice versa if you softened the spring.
5. Put rounds in or take rounds out to get back to you ride pin to pin (20.375). Rerecord measurement from bulb to nut for later reference.
6. Lets say you stiffened the spring from a 225 to a 250. With the 225 lets say the smash numbers where this

Theoretically the 250 will be this

This is assuming your just wanting to change the dynamic loads and not ride load.
