Yes, we have run the 6th coil behind on a few occasions. The rate and setup on the load are a small amount different, but we had no issue. Biggest thing is why? If you are moving the 5th coil out that far you probably will not like the results of that (at least that is what we found)....
My lift bar goes out to 36" but if I ran the 5th coil there, it'd interfere with the 6th coil. I have room to space the 6th coil further forward, but would be relying merely on a 1/2" bolt in single shear. Maybe that would be strong enough?
You can lean the 6th coil forward at top to make clearance and may not have to move the bottom. If you do need to move it, you can add/weld a tube or some steering shaft material to lengthen the arm and take the load off the bolt.
Moving the top of the 6th coil back will pull down more on the back of the car under braking which may not be a huge problem but I would prefer it more forward
Thank you for the info and suggestions. While on the topic, the lift bar in my car is an Old Man's Garage. Is he or they still in business? I've not been able to find any info on them.
Swartz used to adjust the 6th coil behind the 5th coil to influence the wheel load during braking. Additionally, OMG has not been in business for some time. Companies like ETS, Wehrs, Keyser, and BSB manufacture both aluminum and steel lift arms, with the option of aluminum top supports if that is your preference.
