shock adjustments

My shock builder does not want us to take out or add rebound/compression to our shocks as the night goes along. That does not make sense to me to have the same shock numbers on the car for heavy to slick. Any shock builder here explain this to me? New to the late model double adjustable game....Thanks in advance

While it is possible a fair amount to not adjust the shocks all night at a track, you are also missing a useful adjustment thru the night or one that is hard to simulate with other adjustments,

I would also argue never adjusting them track to track, a slow smooth 1/4 is a long ways from fast high banked choppy 3/8 or 1/2 mile as far as speeds and what the car may need on compression and rebound
