Deck, body, & spoiler

I recall a conversation here on body's now and correlation between spoiler and rf, angle finder, etc to get right side proper to today's illegal standard. Anyone recall info? When in Rome, does as the Roman's they say lol

I assume you're talking skew in the body. To be the legal of 117" diagonally from LR rear corner of the spoiler to 96" forward on the right side of body, your rear spoiler to RR quarter panel can be at 87degrees.

You also need to drop the deck behind the drivers shoulders least 2" and likely way more on an old car. The rear deck can now have 7" of slope from drivers shoulders to the rear spoiler if body is done correctly. If memory serves me correctly, the right side is also skewed so bad the RR T bar to back of hood T bar will have 10" of taper to it.

L. Body Skew

a. The measurement of the left rear quarter panel from the center of the hub to the rear of the quarter panel cannot exceed fifty - four inches (54′′) . Measuring seventy - two inches (72′′) from the left rear quarter panel to the right rear quarter panel, then ninety-six inches (96′) forward along the right side door, the diagonal measurement from that point to the top of the left rear quarter panel
must be a minimum of one-hundred seventeen inches (117′′)



The problem with this rule is: So say I have a car that just meets the 117" and is just barely legal. I can tell you 100% that if you know what your doing you can take that car and move the rear T-bar to the right 2" (to skew the body more) and with the right work it will still pass the 117" rule.

I'm not gonna post how this is done, but think about it and do some investigation and you will realize how badly the rule is written. Now also keep in mind they a lot of times don't actually tech or enforce the rules as they are written and can put their own spin on it and enforce how they want not how it's written.

I know I know but personally I feel if you need rules regarding body skew then you know it's a problem
....shame on LoLms and truthfully why when they ran attica locally I quit attending. Rules as is suck, format and everything, caters to teams and drivers but truth is it does cover the bills
