changing from spec tire to open tire. please chime in .

Im going to change from d21 hoosier, to a 1100 compond tire for the weekend!
what kind of changes will i expect with the handling of the car? do i need to adjust the setup any? was thinking i might be tight with the softer compound

you might have to free it up a little, remember this though if you slide the car or blow the tires alot you will kill them, your car will have to really be hooked up but also be able to turn the car(with out sliding it)

depending on what your doing if you can go to 1300 or 1350's for the heat, i would but some races you have to run on what you qualify

1100's or 1300's if you have to run qualify and run the heat race, but if you run the 1100's like i said youll have to be hooked up and if you can dont slide the car!!!(easier said than done)

our driver went from wrs55's to 1100's and he said he felt like superman because he could drive in so much further. I know thats not much help but just an idea of how much more traction they provide like someone said a 1/2sec in qualifying
