Whats the best cleaner for Alum. rims on Late Models???

I start with a gritty hand cleaner and then switch to Mother's aluminum polish and a buffing ball. It works good but won't remove scratches.

Only bad thing about polishing wheels is when you go to polish them, the black resido gets into the scrathces, but the rest of the wheel looks great! I use mothers. It pretty much makes it look like you have new wheels if you polish them every week after a while.

Something that we found that works is use the "Mothers Power Ball" and polish like normal but when you go to remove the black film wet it and use cheap dishwashing liquid to clean it all up. No black residue in scratches and it cleans the power ball and makes it last longer.

if the wheels are really bad i use an acid wash and delute it to 1/4 acid and 3/4 water, wash all the mud and grime off the spray with acid wash and let sit for like 10-20 seconds then rinse good. let wheel dry then i use a polsh called Speedy. Makes em look like brand new and the polish is a liquid soyou dont have to buff the wheel nearly as much as a paiste. wont take out pit or deep scratches of course. GOOD LUCK

Marine stuff tends to be a little more durable. It's the only one I've used, so I can't say if it's better than the regular one.

I use Speedy polish and wax. Do a Google search for Speedy Polish. I believe they are out of Allentown Pa. It is like $26 a quart but I did 22 wheels front and back and only used 3/4 of a bottle. Wipe it on with a clean rag and keep wiping until it starts to turn black then use a polishing ball on a drill. The wheels come out brillant and was clean after use.

there is a product out there called liqua tech medal polish,do a search on it youll find it,10 times faster than mothers,if a wheel is real bad get some 1500 or 2000 grit sand paper and wet sand them remember to go around the wheel and not in and out (if you dont go around the wheel it could leave some small scraches)and then polish they will look like chrome better than new,this is something we used on motorcycles,i use a standard size buffer with a wool pad works fine for me and its quicker,get a mask and dont breathe that junk,good luck
