camshaft breaking!!!

had this happen twice in two years,the camshaft breaks by the distributer on a dry sump motor. Any other guys run into this and is there a cure?

Quite common,espically in flat tappet applications.Use the Comp Cam lobe lock core.Sometimes happens with roller cams if it is a standard sbchevy size cam core.In that case use the 8620 billet steel gold core.

Make sure your not coil binding the valve springs or floating the valves.Thats where the breakage starts.
