hooking up an older kse tandem pump,,,do u have to use the bypass on the pump or can u run a bypass back from fuel rail and plug the one on the pump off?

You can just remove the fitting from the return line on the pump and put an AN plug in it and run a normal bypass regulator at the the back of the fuel log. It works but better then the pill bypass, IMO.

I actually just fixed a car by doing this that had been fighting fuel issues for 4 months.
