Need advise

Came off turn 2 tonight in hot laps car started missing. Pulled valve cover and #3 intake rocker is not moving at all. Pushrod is there can't tell yet if its bent or whats up. Is it possible the lifter broke or the cam lobe broke? If cam broke the other valve train would not work, correct? #3 exhaust is very loose also. I know i will have to pull the head to see for sure. Just wondering if anyone has had this problem before?

We had that before. A cam lobe wore out. Drove us crazy trying to figure it out.

It was the lifter. Thankfully it only got the push rod, everything else looks ok.

If it was a roller, when we have lost one, it opened up the lash by .035, but the valve obviously still went up and down...how can a lifter just kill 1/2-3/4" of valve movement??

It busted the lifter, and its a flat tappet. I do not have the head tore down yet to check the valve. It appears that it (the valve) has no damage. The rocker is mared up a little but looks ok.

You probably need a camshaft also
