Mastersbuilt Rear End Question

I just bought a Mastersbuilt Smackdown seller said it is an 2002 (Car #058). He also said it was a roller. Come to find out it had the wrong mid-plate and now I figured out it has the wrong axle tubes and wrong axle lengths for a Mastersbuilt. My question is what issues am I going to have if I run the tubes and axles that are in this car. Or should I buy the correct ones and save myself the trouble. Thanks

Car has 34" (LR) and 37" (RR) axles.
Mastersbuilt calls for 33" (LR) and 35" (RR)

i would change the RR to a 35" I have ran both 34" and 33" on the LR.

If you have a friend with a machine shop, have them cut off the seal flange on the end of each axle tube. Then cut off the appropriate amount of extra material off of each tube. Then put the seal flange in the bell before putting the shortened tube back in.

I ran the 34" when I raced at more local shows in my area the tracks were super slick after hot laps I wanted the car to be a little tighter all of the time.

So if I ran it with the tubes the way they are now. Would it work? Or do you think the car would be to tight to drive? I may just buy the rr tube and axle. I just wondered what the car would do if I didn't change it. All the tracks I run are SUPER dry slick so maybe it would work.

If you run it they way it is, it will be relatively loose.
Assuming that the rear is centered where it should be, a longer right-side will make the car looser and a longer left-side will make the car tighter.
Again, this all assumes the center section is where it is supposed to be left-to-right. The 33L,35R setup is "baseline". You have 34L,37R so the net effect would be looser than baseline. If you can't get the machine work done or don't have the budget to replace both sides, just changing the 37R to a 35R (as previously suggested) will get you to 34L,35R which will give you the net effect of slightly tighter than baseline. It sounds like this might work on the tracks you are running.

check the tubes for length, may just have the wrong axles or axle in it,there is a couple inches extra inbetween the axles that you have to take up with bolts in the end of the axles.
