Alternator

If I am running a magneto, do you all think I need to run an alternator? The battery will run the starter and gauge lights only.

A typical nite is track pack, hotlaps, two 10-12 lap heats, and a 30 lap feature. If the battery is fully charged, do you think it will last a typical night?

You should have zero problems. We run an MSD box and just throw the charger on before the 30 lap feature..Optima Yellow Top. With a mag, I wouldn't even worry about charging before the main...
