    Need help determining bend radius...

    I was looking at some older Bullitt by Ray Callahan photos and noticed his main hoop is much different than most cars i've seen except GRT but even its slightly different. Anybody have any idea what the bend radius on these cars might be, the pics are below. Thanks for any input, its important.

    I'd say a 7 inch, looks to be about the same radius as the front upper rails, just more degree in the bend . I think 7 inch is a pretty standard die when buying a bender that includes a die . Looks like a Rayburn copy to me!!!

      This is not an exact science, but from what I show here I would say that TALON75's estimation is probably pretty close.

              Jealous, work at a civil firm, have 50 copies of civil 3d, not the best for car CAD, no solid works, wish we did things that moved so I could justify insisting on a copy.

                R = C/2(pi)
                where pi = 3.14

                    is that car a 1 5/8 or 1 3/4 tube car ? That looks like what a 9'' radius but hard to tell in the pic .

                      Radius is to the centerline of the tubing, so you are showing a 7.75" radius in your example.

                      My guess would be a 9" radius comparing it to my bends with my dies.
