I have a G-1000 Van Alstine that doesn't get hot anymore... I have to keep it set on 4 to even cut 1200's... Any idea what the problem could be.. I took the head off and cleaned it really well so I don't think that's the issue... I have the new groover but I don't like the new head setup for using #1 blades so I use the older one as well...

I would suggest you get new spacers for the head. After multiple times cleaning these I had the same problem. When I talked to van alstine they suggested getting the new ones. They said over time they will get scratched and wont make good contact anymore. My groover works like new again. They took the time to troubleshoot mine with me so dont hesitate to call them.Comment
