RR shock mount

I am converting our Aussie "Rocket" leaf spring car to 4 bar, can someone tell me the distance from the ground to the top of the RR shock mount... and maybe the distance from the bottom mount to top mount with the car at ride height, and from the ground to the bottom mount, that should help me out... hopefully.

Hhmmm lots of lookers.... can someone measure a Rocket ? the distance, centre to centre of the right rear shock when at std ride height. It would make a good car bad if I had it too low or too high on the frame, thanks Garry.

You need the distance from the upper mount to the ground when at ride height.

there was no difference on the upper shock mount height all the hr2 cars just had the upper link brackets added and the bottom bars had a conversion bracket bolted to the leaf mounts that had about 30 holes in them.

Because I raced other peoples old cars for years I understand your question but I have no idea on a measurement. I would do is set car at ride height then using a straight edge and angle finder I would set it some where between 15 and 20 degrees tilted in to the center of the car at the top from where you are going mount the shock on the bird cage. Along that line from the bottom shock mount is where you need a shock mount. Look at a friends car to get a compressed length of the shock and coil over unit, you should be within 2" of that length to where you upper shock mount goes. That is what I would do right or wrong then I would drive it and get as much seat time as I can.

I would angle it in 18 and and forward 15 degrees. The height from ground is pretty critical for roll characteristics. Most cars are about the same. I can give you a Smackdown measurement tomorrow.

I used 17 degrees in at the top and 17 forward without problems for years but then my new car came from the builder at 15 in at the top and 5 degrees forward.

i don't think people are purposely snubbing you. Half of the country is covered in snow and ice, so many people probably don't have a car finished to set down and measure.
