I have run my 602 crate late with the 4:12 8" in 10" housing for years with NO problems and it dose not have pinion nose support. If you get the center kit or a new rear with 8" winters offers it now with the nose support but you can not run lockers.Last edited by racer86; 11-11-2014, 02:38 PM.

We have been running an 8" Winters with an open motors and SUPR spec motors for three years now and lost the first one this year. These are real good Pro Power motors. We only lunched it after running on real rough tracks all season. We did end up cracking a couple of side bells this year, I think because of excess flex. If this flex happens at the wrong areas internally, I could see how this could lead to excess back lash and gear failure.
But, I'm really just guessing on how that actually failed.
