Whats a good 5th coil shock? Would an adjustable one be advantageous?

I find rebound adjustment to be helpful at the race track. Who builds that shock is probably more critical than the brand. Integra, Ohlins, or equivalent should serve you well.Originally posted by FlatTire View PostWhats a good 5th coil shock? Would an adjustable one be advantageous?Modern Day Spec Wedge Racing

What effect does adjust rebound have on the 5th coil and where do you feel the difference it makes? I always figured since it is compressing under acceleration that compression would be the main adjustment and rebound would only effect corner entry.

Rebound effects entry. Just as you said. I don't change location, spring rates, etc very often.Originally posted by Punisher88 View PostWhat effect does adjust rebound have on the 5th coil and where do you feel the difference it makes? Ok thanks. Do you notice a very large change when adjusting the rebound? I've never really played with it too much? I've got the canister actually mounted in the (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)pit so I can play with the compression and can tell a bit of a difference with it. But never really played with rebound. I assume more rebound tighter and less will free it up?

Ok thanks. I've been having a bit of an issue of being tight getting in and never tried actually adjusting the rebound on the 5th coil.

I would probably look at the 5th coil shock as a fine tuning adjustment. What rate 6th coil do you run? I ended up just sticking with a 600#. I tried a 400# once in the slick, but I believe I had too much static pinion agle and picked up a driveline vibration on decel with the 400#.

If I'm not mistaken it is a 600. It is the standard one babarry said to put on the car when I built it. I've never really done anything with it.
