bump stop on right rear

any one tried this ? soft rt rear with a bump stop, a friend of mine said earlier this year , he ran second to a car on a slick track that was pulling him 2 cars of the corner , he got a quick look at the car when they were loading it up and saw what appeared to be a soft spring with a bump stop on rt rear, any thoughts?

he only got a glimpse , I would think it would be the Christmas tree style, they allow a little more travel.
