Unlocking the LR bird cage

Has anyone ran the LR bird cage unlocked from the link part of the cage to the shock part. Our bird cage is a split cage and was wondering if anyone has tried running it so the rotate separately.

The only way you could do that is if you locked the shock portion to a clamp bracket.

You have to connect the shock mount to something. Clamp bracket, radius rod mount, or the main birdcage body. Which are you trying to do?

Before shock/spring behind LR became the thing on 4-bars, LR shock/spring clamped in front of axle was a pretty popular setup.
If you clamp it behind the axle, I think you're going to have really free race car on the gas.
